Ordering Optical Supplies from Quiapo to the Provinces
Updated 29 September 2026 · For optical shops in Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and beyond
Most optical shops outside Metro Manila still buy from Quiapo, because that is where the distributors and the best prices are. You don't need to fly in. Here is how ordering, payment and shipping work, and how long delivery takes to Cebu, Davao and Iloilo.
How it works
- Pick a supplier that takes remote orders. Many Quiapo shops prefer walk-in trade. Look for a published phone or Messenger line for shipping orders.
- Send your order in writing. List lens type, index, coating and power range, and frame model and colour. Messenger with photos works well and gives you a record.
- Pay. Suppliers usually want payment before shipping on a first order. InstaPay transfers settle instantly and business accounts can now send up to ₱500,000 per transfer. PESONet has no per-transfer cap and settles the same or next banking day.
- Choose the courier. The supplier books it or you nominate one. Ask for the tracking number and a photo of the packed box.
Delivery times from Manila
| Courier | To Cebu, Iloilo (Visayas) | To Davao (Mindanao) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| LBC Rush | 1–2 days | 1–2 days | Official; Monday to Saturday; costs more than standard |
| LBC standard | up to about 7 days | up to about 7 days | Cash on delivery available nationwide |
| AP Cargo air | 2–3 days | 2–3 days | Official; receiver can pay freight |
| J&T Express | 3–7 days | 3–7 days | Approximate; cash on delivery available |
| JRS Express | 4–6 days | 4–6 days | Approximate; GCash or Maya on delivery |
| 2GO Express | Check with 2GO; published estimates vary | ||
Times marked official are from the courier's own website; the others are third-party estimates. None include the supplier's own processing time.
Lalamove is useful at either end, for getting stock from Quiapo to a courier hub or for last-mile delivery within Cebu or Davao, but not for the inter-island leg.
Packing and receiving tips
- Lenses travel best in their envelopes inside a rigid box. Ask the supplier not to ship uncut lenses loose.
- Frames need padding. Acetate frames can crack at the hinge if the box is crushed.
- Open on video. Record the unboxing so a damage claim with the courier or supplier is straightforward.
- Consolidate. One larger monthly order costs less per piece to ship than weekly small ones.
- Use a same-day upgrade for rush jobs only. LBC Rush and air cargo are fast, but standard services are fine for restocking.
What about local suppliers?
Regional cities have optical suppliers too, but few advertise wholesale online, and range and pricing are usually better in Quiapo. Ask other optometrists in your area who they use, and compare a trial order against a Quiapo distributor.
