Wholesale Lenses in Quiapo: Stock vs Processed, and Where to Buy
Updated 29 September 2026
Lenses are where an optical shop makes or loses its margin. This guide explains the two ways Quiapo wholesalers sell them and which suppliers to use for each.
Stock lenses
Stock (or finished) lenses are pre-made single-vision lenses in a standard range of common powers. You keep a range in the shop, edge them to the frame, and the customer walks out the same day. They are the cheapest lens per pair and cover most prescriptions a general practice sees.
In Quiapo, the in-house brands are the best value because the distributor sets the price. TKR Optics' Rising Sun range comes in 1.56, 1.61 and 1.67 index, in uncoated, hard multi-coat, Blue Shield and Photochromic Fast-React versions.
Processed lenses
Processed (or Rx) lenses are surfaced to order for prescriptions outside the stock range, progressives, high-index and specialty coatings. Turnaround depends on the lab and the prescription, so ask for a date with the quote. Price varies more between suppliers here, so compare a written quote for the same spec.
Stock or processed: a quick rule
| Prescription | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Single vision within stock range | Stock | Same-day, lowest cost |
| Single vision, high power or high cylinder | Processed | Outside stock range |
| Progressive or bifocal | Processed | Needs fitting measurements |
| High-index, premium coatings | Processed | Not stocked in volume |
Edging and buy-out services
If you do not own an edger, some Quiapo distributors will edge stock lenses into your frames before shipping. TKR Optics lists edging, buy-out and mission lenses as value-added services, which is what lets a small provincial clinic sell finished eyewear without a lab. Ask about turnaround when you place the order.
Contact lenses, solutions and drops
The same distributors carry contact lenses and care products. TKR Optics stocks Acuvue and New Look contact lenses with solutions and Systane Ultra eye drops, so a clinic can consolidate its consumables order.
